The Art of The Brick

The Art of The Brick is currently showing in the Ambassador Theater, Dublin. It is an exhibition which focuses completely on the use of LEGO® bricks by Nathan Sawaya. He has created inspiring pieces using only LEGO pieces.. and many of them!

There were several rooms which displayed different pieces by Nathan and each showed so much skill and thought. Of course I took many photos – so see below and enjoy! I had to use my phone camera during this, so they are not great quality!

And we’re off!

And we're off!

Up at 6am for the airport and we’re off to NYC! The flight from Dublin is around 7 hours depending on the weather. Luckily it’s just under 7 for us today. Regardless of the flight length – I have internet!!!

Aer Lingus now has a wifi option during its flights. I paid 20euro but its well worth it for me. I get to edit, keep up to date and most importantly talk to my boy at home.

With The Devil Wear’s Prada on in the background, a talkative sister to my left and food arriving any second – I’m doing just fine!

Oh, my little joker friend will be coming along with me! Check back for more updates xx

New York City, here I come!!

nonameNew York City, January 2012.

Tomorrow I head to my favourite place in the world, New York City. I have been twice before but this time I get to experience it with my sister. We will be staying in a beautiful hotel just near Times Square for 7 nights. We couldn’t have chosen anywhere more central! Our only definite plan is to go Jersey Gardens for one day and shop shop shop!

If you have any recommendations of what we should do and where to go, please let me know in the comments! ♥

A Magical Birthday!

Turning 24 in Disneyland Paris!!! I officially have the most wonderful boyfriend ♥

We got up early and headed from our hotel in Paris out to Disneyland. We got there just before opening and decided to visit Walt Disney Studios first. The buzz around this place is unreal. Seán isn’t great on roller coasters so we avoided the big ones and headed for the mild ones. Except.. being the nice girlfriend that I am – I took him to The Hollywood Tower Hotel first. An elevator drop. It was my birthday after all….. 😉 Let’s just say the trust level he had for me dropped just a little that day. From then on we did the “gentle” rides.

We then headed into Disneyland itself. Christmas decorations were still up, making the whole place extra magical. Seán bought me a Minnie Mouse hat and we got some gifts to bring home.

My birthday cake – candyfloss! They made sure to make it as high as possible. The sugar rush made for a very hyper afternoon running around to different rides. Yes we pose like eejits.

Seán booked us in for a special dinner in the Blue Lagoon restaurant. The meal was perfect and the service was amazing. The restaurant is within the Pirates of The Caribbean ride so we could wave to the boats. I also recommend the cocktails 😉

There is something so wonderful about Disneyland. The staff, the characters, the children running around, the atmosphere in general. It’s my happy place and I got to share it with my love.

Finally, we arrived back in the city and I was treated to a Häagen-Dazs dessert. We could barely finish it all! Believe me, it tasted as good as it looks below.

Thank you for my magical birthday Seán. I think I’ll keep you ♥

Paris You Beaut!

January 2014 brought Paris and my birthday all in one. My boyfriend and I headed to the city of lights for a romantic getaway. We had both been to Paris before and didn’t have a  good experience, so we wanted to give it another go… a boy did we love it. Staying on Avenue Victor Hugo we were just a short walk away from the Arc de Triomphe which led us to the amazing sight below.

I’m not going to mention the climb we had to do to witness this beauty (I’m still recovering)….. narrow staircases??? .. Not my thing!

After a giant pizza each (and some crêpes for me) we walked from the restaurant to the Eiffel Tower. We were lucky enough to catch the sparkle and glow and take a million photographs. This is the most iconic sight to see in Paris.

The next day we walked to the Louvre – and look what we came across on the way. Chanel. Amazing. Love. One day I shall walk in here and comfortably buy something. Until then, I shall gaze from outside.

Moving on from the shop window, we arrived at the Louvre. Not being a major fan of art, I was in awe. I will come back to Paris to spend a whole day here exploring.

Time for some tea, yummy treats and elegance. Ladurée – maison de macarons.

The boyfriend got french toast and a coffee and I got french toast and a green tea. Heaven!

And finally we could not leave Ladurée without some macarons!

Basically, we loved every moment in Paris.
